Hi Dick,

If it's any consolation I was amazed at $3 soft drinks too when I came back last year. It's kind of funny to hear my friends from Japan talk about how expensive Australia is...not funny, ha, ha though.

It was a great conference. Hope you guys come back again soon :-)

OK, I won't call people Oriental any more. But I won't be calling them Asian either. Asia is just too big. The people to whom I'm referring clearly were not Afghani, they were from China, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, Vietnam, Laos, or some other East Asian country. Maybe I should start calling them non-Occidentals.

Just a politically correct correction.

People are Asian. Things are Oriental.

Re: Beer
You are pretty spot on with the beers, that honey one is good (Beez Neez? though I can't honestly taste the honey in it) and Stella is everywhere, and really there are no American beers in pubs, but they are in bottle shops. I find I like Coopers a lot, as well as many of the James Squire range.

Re: Subject
I'm sorry - I don't 'get' the meaning of your post title... ah, actually I just got it. Nevermind... I should read signs more carefully.

Catchya'round!

It was good to meet you Charles and Damon. I doubt that you learned more than we did, but I think it was a worthwhile experience all round. Just a shame that my skinflint boss would only pay for one day.

A shame you couldn't have come a few years back, when one of your dollars bought two of ours. I think you should go to London next, to find out what a really expensive place is like. And don't expect a London cabbie to offer to give the tip back :)
