Inaugural UK Office User Group Event

Dick has kindly given me permission to post on the DDoE about an upcoming event in the UK focussing on Office 2007.

It will take place at Microsoft’s Campus, Thames Valley Park, Reading, Berkshire, on Friday 27th April 2007 and is COMPLETELY FREE!

I will be one of the speakers, discussing the customisation of the new Office UI using RibbonX and VBA, but there will be some BI discussions, as well as presentations of other Office products, including Visio. (I call all these add-ins to Excel, but keep it quiet).

If you are interested, to help us with catering, please book you place with rich@gordonassociates.co.uk. Or, if you wish to look at the detail for the day, go to www.officeusergroup.co.uk

Thanks

  1. I sent an email yesterday to register but haven’t heard anything back yet – has anyone else heard anything yet?

  2. Great news. I definitely want to go. I have sent an email off to register and loke Simon, had no reponse yet, but I’m sure we’ll here back. Looking forward to meeting some of you there.

  3. It might help if I could spell – Sunday morning and a bit bleary eyed!!!
    Thst should have read –

Great news. I definitely want to go. I have sent an email off to register and like Simon, had no reponse yet, but I’m sure we’ll hear back. Looking forward to meeting some of you there.

  4. Like the others above, I e-mailed an enquiry last Weds, and haven’t heard anything back yet. Hope we do soon, or I won’t be able to book the time off to go (yes, although it would be useful for my job, they’ll make me use annual leave to go…. :-( )

  5. MikeC – you’re not alone there! I am still hoping that I can get it signed off as a work trip, but I may end up book a day’s leave…

  6. I have exchanged emails with Rich (the event coordinator) today so I expect everyone else will hear hack shortly if they haven’t already done so…

I would’ve posted this earlier, but this site was down (SQL error)

  7. Place is booked – with a slight (VERY slight) possibility of even having work pay for the travel fares and allow me to go in work time – thanks for the idea of actually pushing for it Simon!!! Admittedly it took a 3-page “business case” to even have them CONSIDER it… (can you imagine what it’s like getting something which actually costs outta these guys???)

Regardless, if they don’t let me, will be coming anyway – anyone else from DDOE in the UK definitely attending?
