Play The West
You all get a break from my Excel ramblings for the day. This weekend I will be Playing The West. Six of my friends and I will be tackling 90 holes in three days.
For those of you not familiar with Nebraska, two-thirds of the population of the state lives in the Eastern one-third. The West is cattle and wheat land. Just because it’s sparsely populated doesn’t mean they don’t have great golf courses out there. I aim to find out how great.
My golf game has been on one of it’s peaks lately. Last weekend I played three times and shot between 82 and 84 each time. I hear these courses are a bit tougher than what I’m used to, so I’ve stocked up on golf balls in case my game goes into it’s inevitable valley.
The worst case scenario is that I drink a few beers and play a lot of 4-point pitch. And that’s not a bad weekend, in my book.

I lived in the panhandle of Nebraska for five years (quite a few years ago). Played one of my-entire-life-total two rounds of golf there. Enjoyable, but when you’re not a golfer,… But it is amazing what wind can do to your ball - especially since I’m left-handed, and the guy trying to teach me was right-handed. Made for a few laughs.
